About Me

Hello! I'm glad you found your way to Ebb & Flow Counselling. My name is Gill, and I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 5 Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Prof. Dip Psy C.). I am also an accredited registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Society (MNCPS Accred), and I adhere to their code of ethics (available here).

Now that we have that out of the way and I’ve explained what all the letters mean, I can tell you a bit more about me. As well as being a counsellor, I am an artist and I find that they complement each other, providing me with a well-rounded work balance. Living by the sea has always been a source of immense inspiration and tranquillity for me, something that is reflected on my website. The soothing presence of the sea adds an extra layer of peace and creativity to my life and work, influencing my approach to counselling and fostering a sense of calm within me that I strive to impart to others. My focus is on the significance of mental health and the growing awareness of its importance. My passion lies in providing support for individuals facing a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, work-related stress, family or relationship issues, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and childhood trauma. Through a neutral and empathetic approach, I aim to help my clients navigate their mental health journey with understanding and resilience.

Having worked the past year and a half in the voluntary sector at PF Counselling Service in Edinburgh, I gained valuable experience supporting clients through short and long-term counselling. It was an honour to work for a charity providing such a vital service to our community. I feel now is the right time for me to set up in private practice, having grown as a counsellor with the support of the PF.

‘A very competent counsellor, a credit to the profession.' - Alison, Director PF Counselling Service.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session. I look forward to the opportunity to working together.

Best Wishes,
Gill
