Lets work together

Kindly read these terms and conditions. By booking a session you are agreeing to this contract, you are agreeing to the following:

1. Fees: Sessions are charged at £50 for a 50 minute session for in-person and online. Walk and talk sessions and home visits are £55 for a 50 minute session.

Concessionary (low income) sessions are offered for up to 6, weekly sessions. Sessions are charged at £35 for a 50 minute session for in-person and online. An extension on the 6 sessions may be granted on a case by case basis and continuation of sessions would be on a weekly basis. Alternatively if the client wishes to continue therapy with longer gaps between session the full session fee of £50 will come into effect.

Payment will be taken at the time of booking on the Acuity booking software (unless through insurance/EAP/Fife Carers, in which case payment is handled by the provider.)

Sessions will be on a weekly or fortnightly basis as agreed by client/counsellor. If you are unable to attend sessions for more than two weeks, I ask that this is discussed in advance. Where there is no contact or agreement, I will assume counselling has paused/ended and make the session space available to a new client. If you later decide you would like to resume counselling, please feel free to get in touch, no matter how long the break has been. Any return would depend on availability at the time.

2. Session times once booked should be honoured unless exceptional circumstances.

Cancellation policy:

Within 48hr of session time: I will reschedule to another time/day (within the same week or 3 working days of the original appointment) if my schedule allows or change to an online session. Otherwise full fee will be charged. Please email me with the time/date you want to reschedule to on ebb.flow.counselling@gmail.com as the system will not allow you to reschedule within 48hrs of session time.

Within 24hr of session time: full fee will be charged.

3. Sessions will take place in person at my residence, The Garden Room, 14 Milton Place, Pittenweem, KY10 2LR. Please try to arrive at your appointment time as I have no waiting area and to avoid any cross over with other clients, allowing for anonymity and confidentiality. You are welcome to park in the drive if you are arriving by car. Please enter via the side gate with the Ebb and Flow Counselling sign and the garden room is straight ahead of you. Please go in and take a seat.

Online sessions will be carried out on Google Meet using this link: https://meet.google.com/dsv-kzmx-tft

Walk and talk sessions will be conducted at a location agreed on prior to our session (1st session must be carried out at my residence or online).

4. Contact between sessions will be limited to email (unless otherwise discussed).

5. Confidentiality will be maintained at all times unless:

  • If you are considered to be a serious risk to yourself or to other people, then further professional advice could be beneficial.

  • Any illegal activities, where not to disclose would break the law.

  • Any child protection issues where a child could be at risk of harm or neglect must be reported to the appropriate authorities as required by The Children Act 1989.

Depending on the particular circumstances, I would always aim to discuss this with you before taking any action wherever possible.

All client information and notes are kept securely, privately and not accessed by anyone else. I ensure data is stored securely in line with GDPR. I am also paid up with the Information Commissioner.

6. I have professional indemnity insurance and I maintain my National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society accreditation and requirements of the Professional Standards Authority Register. As part of this I have supervision to help me process my own experiences, thoughts and feeling about the sessions. This is all done maintaining confidentiality.

I will abide by the practices and code of ethics as laid out by the NCPS. If you have any complaints about my work, please let me know and we can hopefully work through and resolve these together. You have the right however to inform my professional body by contacting the NCPS.

Emergency: As I am not available for emergency contact, I highly recommend you get in touch with your doctor or emergency services in your area if you feel particularly distressed at any time. Alternatively, you can contact Samaritans online or by telephone 116 123.
